About Scott VanDyke

No one plans for divorce. It is not on our radar screen. We don’t fall in love, plan a wedding, settle down and have kids hoping that in a few short years we can separate and divorce. But divorce is a reality. Marriages do end. And we find ourselves in a sea of uncertainty, dealing with a plethora of emotions, and wondering if we are going to make it.

Divorce is one of the most painful events we can experience. Life, as you know it, is gone. You feel alone. It’s like waking up in an episode of the “Twilight Zone” where everything you once knew was a mirage. Life just doesn’t seem to fit anymore. And you feel helpless, wondering if there is life after divorce.

Yes, there is life after divorce. Hello, I am Scott VanDyke. Back in 2001, I went through a divorce. My years of experience as a pastor, and dealing with people during life situations and crisis, did not prepare me for what I went through. I found myself navigating unfamiliar waters, and feeling very alone.

But I also realized life was not over. Relying on my faith in God, grieving and healing, forming new relationships, dreaming of a new life, and working hard to be the best dad I could possibly be for my kids, I slowing began to find joy again. I learned much along the way. And now I am living a life I dreamed of before: blessed with an amazing marriage, wonderful relationships with my kids, and doing work I absolutely love.

I decided to use my experience to help others by becoming a divorce coach. My goal is to walk beside the person experiencing divorce, giving them the encouragement and support they need, helping them transition by making good choices, setting positive goals, and moving towards a new, better chapter in life. I cheer them on so that they can discover their fulfilling life post divorce.

I know what you’re going through, and I can help.

“Scott takes a compassionate and realistic approach on transitioning from what was to what will be. He understands the pain associated with having your world turned upside down and can relate to all of the emotional ambushes that we go through. His knowledge and guidance is greatly appreciated and applicable to establishing a new normal. I am very thankful for all that he has done.”   -Mark, current client.
